Watch Corbin Bleu’s appearance on this morning’s edition of VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live!”
Corbin Bleu became a household name as Chad Danforth in Disney’s smash hit television movie High School Musical, and later made his Broadway debut in 2010 as bodega-owner Usnavi in the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights. He recently returned to the Great White Way to star as Jesus in the revival of the legendary musical Godspell at Circle in the Square. TheaterMania recently spoke with Bleu about taking on this demanding role.
A first look at Corbin Bleu in Godspell!
Before “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu made his official debut as Jesus in Godspell, Broadway.com was on the scene to get a first look at the star in rehearsals on April 17. Though Bleu made his Broadway debut as Usnavi in In The Heights, the actor was excited to be on the Great White Way once again in the Stephen Schwartz revival.
The company of Broadway’s first-ever revival of Stephen Schwartz’s rock musical Godspell welcomed a new leading man — stage and screen star Corbin Bleu (Disney’s “High School Musical,” Broadway’s In the Heights) — to the starring role of Jesus last night, April 17. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the star’s debut curtain call and caught up with him at the celebratory after party.

Corbin Bleu returns to Broadway as Jesus in Godspell on April 17 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Bleu takes over the role from original star Hunter Parrish, who played his final performance on April 15….
